I am a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher. I have been teaching the 8 week mindful self compassion course since I completed training in 2014. I taught intensives and silent retreats with Judith Soulsby and Vanessa Hope from 2015 on behalf of Bangor University Centre for Mindfulness Practice and Research. I teach mindful self compassion intensives privately in the UK and Europe and for the mindfulness network in the UK
I’m a trained MBSR and MBCT teacher and senior Breathworks teacher/trainer and supervisor. I am an experienced retreat leader delivering mindfulness training and silent meditation retreats since 2012. I have delivered mindfulness-based training within a range of contexts, e.g,. corporations, voluntary organisations including The Probation Service, The Mental Health Consortium and Women’s Aid.
I hold a doctorate from The University of Liverpool School of Sociology and Social Policy. I have lectured in sociology, research methodology, women’s and gender studies, and worked as a social researcher commissioned by the National Health Service. My experience also includes teaching and group work facilitation both in community settings and in the voluntary sector. I hold a certificate in Education.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and have worked with people experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, low self-esteem and depression. I taught counselling skills in Liverpool for many years. I work on a one-to-one basis using person-centred counselling skills and mindfulness-based inquiry. I am also a guide for Liberation Unleashed and Inquiry into the Ten Fetters Facebook Page (insight inquiry).
