About Me
I came to mindful self-compassion by chance, at a time when my mindfulness practice felt helpful yet emotionally distant. Learning self-compassion for me is like finding a lighthouse and a compass, an inward journey of becoming my own best friend and returning home to gentleness, warmth, courage, and care. Through life’s many transitions, self-compassion has been a steady inner ally and refuge, a place where I could truly rest and recharge.
Deeply transformed by these practices, I’m passionate about sharing them with others. My intention as a facilitator and lifelong learner is to bring mindfulness and compassion practices to wider communities especially those with multicultural and diaspora backgrounds. It brings me enormous joy to be offering courses with like-minded friends with different origins and backgrounds. I value co-creating spaces and building communities for deepening connection, understanding and belonging while honouring and respecting heritage and ancestry. I am deeply committed to increasing representations of people like me, whose heritage, ethnic background and life trajectory have been underrepresented in certain mindfulness-based learning and teaching spaces. I see practice as always relational and incredibly individual. I believe in practicing and learning in communities and its power to inspire movements towards individual and collective flourishing and healing.
Originally from Hong Kong, I now live in rural Devon with my bicultural family and two Siberian cats. I have a background in biomedical research, scientific publishing, language teaching and teacher training.
I’m a BAMBA-registered mindfulness and self-compassion teacher trained with the Mindfulness Network, Oxford Mindfulness Foundation, Sussex Mindfulness Centre, and Self-Compassion Academy.
