About Me
Greetings from Malta!
Thank you for visiting my page. Since you are here, please allow me to introduce myself.
I am humbled to be the first and (to my knowledge) the only trained MSC teacher on the Maltese islands. I am also a registered health psychologist, certified anxiety treatment professional for children and adolescents; professional mindfulness and meditation teacher for adults and kids; and accredited clinical supervisor. My goal is to help those who cross my path flourish into the best version of themselves.
Like most living beings, I have had more than my fair share of pain: I know what it tastes and feels like. As a professional, I feel the pain and joys of my clients as they try to make sense of and eventually learn how to manage their life challenges. Challenges I commonly work with include mental health issues such as anxiety and depression; chronic health conditions such as fibromyalgia and tinnitus; relationship issues such as attachment disorders and abusive relationships; intellectual and learning difficulties; and trauma.
How do I do that? In many ways. I teach the 8-week evidence-based MSC programme and offer bespoke self-compassion, meditation, and mindfulness training on one-to-one basis and in groups. I also do psychology consultations with individuals, couples and families; mindfulness and compassion retreats; corporate training; and workshops on topics related to mindfulness, self-compassion, psychology, health, and well-being. As an accredited supervisor, I offer formative, restorative, and normative supervision to a wide variety of professionals including psychotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, midwives, and educators.
I believe that every client has his/her unique baggage and requires a tailor-made intervention. Therefore, I endeavour to adopt an eclectic, client-directed, and heart-centered approach to all I do. I integrate western psychology and eastern spiritual practices into various forms of interventions adapted to the personal needs of each specific individual, depending on the problem, treatment goals, and her/his expectations and motivation. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am currently offering my services mostly on-line, with very few in-person sessions where absolutely necessary.
My work would not be possible without my heavy investment in continuous personal and professional development, the nurturance of 30 years of personal meditation practice, and ongoing local and foreign supervision. Training to become a MSC teacher and incorporating the practice into my daily life has strengthened my relationship with myself and deepened my passion to be of service to others.
If you think I can be of any use to you, your family, institution, or organization, I would be happy to hear from you.
Meanwhile, I wish you and your loved ones peace, health, and joy.
