About Me

I live on the beautiful Isle of Man and have been teaching mindfulness for several years. Courses I teach include Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness in the Workplace and .b Foundations as part of the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP). Most of my training has been undertaken with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University and Oxford University’s Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

I mostly teach my courses at the University College Isle of Man as part of their Adult Community Education and Services to Business offering as well as providing introductory sessions for local businesses, Government Departments and charities. I also bring mindfulness and mindful self-compassion into my 1-2-1 work as a Welfare Officer and Counsellor for the Isle of Man Government.

I was fortunate enough to train to teach Mindful Self-Compassion with Kristin Neff, Christopher Germer, Steve Hickman and Judith Soulsby in 2015. I am still a teacher-in-training and, to date, haven’t taught an MSC course though I have incorporated some of its principles and practices into other courses and into my work with individuals.

But that is about to change! My first full 8 week MSC course is planned for January at UCM and I am really looking forward to it. The course starts on Tuesday 26 January 2021. Although it usually costs £100, UCM are making it FREE for residents of 4 years or more (and reduced for residents who have lived on the island for less than 4 years) as a service to the community. See Courses section for more details and don’t hesitate to contact me to find out more.
