I trained as a Mindful Self Compassion teacher in 2016 with Chris Germer, Kristin Neff and Steve Hickman. Since then I have been running 8 week MSC courses, the shorter 6 week courses for the public and for caregivers in both NHS and charitable organisations
Both myself and Jean Nash, a very experienced mindfulness teacher, started our business, Malvern Mindfulness in 2013. Since then we have been teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction courses, Mindful Self-compassion, Mindful Eating, Finding Peace in a Frantic World and last year I also trained to teach Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for people with Cancer. We also hold weekly practice sessions for the general public, on a donation or free basis.
I am passionate about teaching Mindful Self-Compassion, for me it adds greatly to the practice of mindfulness and I personally have gained so much benefit, it has equipped me with greater skills in dealing with the pressures, the difficulties that our lives present us with. I feel much more resilient and life’s experiences are so much richer, the joys of life and the difficulties. I am so motivated in sharing these valuable life skills with others.
I am a retired mental health nurse, having spent all my working career in the NHS. This provided me with experience in facilitating groups and connecting 1:1 with individuals, offering support, human connection and hopefully some wisdom.
I work with a “light touch”, recognising the value in making learning and self-development a safe, pleasant and desirable.
